Inner Fire/Hatha Yoga - Inner Fire Yoga is a systematic practice that is based on seven stages, each linked to one of the primary chakras or energy centers. Beginning with the root chakra and ending in Savasana and the crown chakra, we work our way up through the body’s energy centers, opening one at a time. The class often begins with an intention setting meditation. We slowly transition from floor/grounded poses to standing and balancing poses, working our way back down to the floor, and ending, again, with a meditation. Inner Fire Yoga is for all levels as we always have options. It is a slow to medium pace class in which we spend several breaths in each asana. Inner Fire Yoga is a safe, comprehensive, and supportive way to strengthen, heal, open and maintain the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self.

About the Teacher
Annie has been practicing, studying, and teaching Yoga and Fitness classes for more than a decade. Before her recent move to New York, she received her Inner Fire Hatha Yoga RYT Certificate from Yoga on Main in Philadelphia. She has been trained in traditional Vedic studies, completed a 500 hour Ayurvedic Studies program, and holds an Ayurvedic Counseling Certificate with the American Institute of Ayurvedic Studies.
In addition, Annie is a certified Holistic Nutritionist, and holds several fitness related certifications including Personal Training with AAI/ISMA, Cycling, Core Power, and a number of Cardio Kickboxing and Cardio Weight Training/HIIT formats. Annie also loves dance and has been trained in, and taught, bellydancing.
Annie is passionate about holistic wellness, tailoring her classes and consulting to each individual based upon Ayurvedic principles. She seeks to understand what factors will help to balance each individual based upon their unique needs. Through her studies and practice, she has discovered the power of syncing movement to breath and of how a regular practice can allow the mind to let go of distractions and transform our everyday lives.
When Annie is not practicing yoga or engaged in fitness related activities, she is a part time elementary school teacher and reading specialist. She loves spending time with her husband, children, and her dog. She enjoys traveling to new places, spending quiet time in the mountains, reading a good book, and cooking.
